        Educational Animal Encounter: Habitats -Why do I look like that?                         

        Audience: KS1/KS2

        Brief Description:

Children will observe the characteristics of two contrasting habitat types, rainforest and dessert. Children will ask and answer ‘How animals are suited to their habitat?’ discuss the importance of protecting our habitats and discover how animals are adapted to survive through hand on observations.

To know how animals and plants are suited to their habitats.
NC: Sc2:5a To know about ways in which living things and the environment need protection.

NC: Sc2:5c To know how animals and plants in two different habitats are suited to their environment.

 Each workshop, presentation and encounter is accompanied by a brief lesson plan indicating lesson outcomes and suggestions for follow up work.
